HEROES@YTPS [Holistic Enriching and Rewarding Outdoor Education & Sports] HEROES is guided by the principle of providing a strong foundation for students' continual growth and improved physical, social and emotional well-being. The learning experiences, designed to facilitate student acquisition of fundamental motor skills, 21stC competencies and Social-Emotional Competencies, are embedded in the curriculum and co-curriculum through Programme for Active Learning (PAL), adventure camps, CCAs and the Sports Fiesta series. Learning is deepened through teacher-student facilitation, student-student interaction and personal reflection. Through the 6-year outdoor and sports programme, students are exposed to a variety of sporting and outdoor experiences. All participate recreationally in physical activities and those who show passion and interest are given opportunities to take part competitively and/or deepen their knowledge and skills in the areas they excel in. D.R.E.A.M@YTPS [Developing Reflective learners, Empowering creAtive Minds] D.R.E.A.M aims to equip students with tools and mindsets to solve problems. The process adopted for problem-solving is about uncovering the real needs of the user and addressing them, through Design Thinking. Through P1 - P6 Project Work and Values-In-Action (Service) activities, students have to activate their problem-solving skills, empathetic thinking and creative and critical thinking when working out plausible solutions to problems. The collaborative learning and active communication, also allow students to see how the different subjects are interconnected. Students have the opportunities to develop, demonstrate and deepen their 21stC competencies during the process.
