Xinghua Primary School is committed to growing pupils to be caring and also passionate about learning. We are committed to providing diverse learning opportunities which challenge students and yet offer happy learning moments. Our programmes, guided by sound processes, allow pupils opportunities to learn through new experiences. Through a culture of care and innovation, our pupils are immersed in an environment that equips them with the 21st Century Competencies.
- Distinctive Programmes
The Learning for Life Programme (LLP) in Xinghua Primary School centres on "Confidence Building and Critical thinking through the Visual Arts". The school believes that this focus is one of the key strategies to enhance the actualization of the school vision. Through participation in visual arts, pupils' creativity and curiosity to learn can be unlocked, helping them to grow a passion for learning. Increased pupil participation in visual arts programmes will lead to more visible and tangible vibrancy as the physical presence of artworks and pupil activities throughout the school create the atmosphere. As the pupils discover more about the cultures of other races through the respective art forms and the artworks of local artists, they develop a deeper understanding of Singapore's ethnic diversity and a sense of national identity. This nurtures the pupils into sensitive and caring citizens. Not only does active participation in visual art cultivate the school values, the programme is able to promote critical thinking and communication skills among the pupils to become confident learners of the 21st century.
