- Distinctive Programmes
The school believes in the holistic development of the whole child. Our school's Applied Learning Programme (ALP) - Developing Zhangde GIVER3S Values Through Environment Education aims to instil in our students a love and concern for the environment through the inculcation of our GIVER3S values. The school has developed its own distinctive Environment Education curriculum that provides students with platforms to learn and explore the importance of conserving natural resources. Through these platforms, our school aims to develop future generations of thinking individuals and gracious citizens who take accountability for their own actions and be responsible towards the environment, a key 21st CC competency. Our P3 - P5 Level Camps are part of the school's structured camp, leadership training and CCE programme. It is aligned with the school's PE & Sports and Outdoor Education Framework and aim to provide our students a holistic education. The learning experiences for the camps are aligned with our school's Applied Learning Programme (ALP) on 'Developing Zhangde GIVER3S Values Through Environment Education. The learning experiences at the camps aim to educate our students to care for their environment and the world we live in. The camp objectives also ties in with the CCE learning outcomes, where students develop self-awareness and self-management skills to achieve personal well-being and effectiveness. Students also develop social-awareness and interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive relationships. Values-in-Action (VIA) are learning experiences that support students' development as socially responsible citizens who contribute meaningfully to the community, through the learning and application of values, knowledge and skills. VIA fosters student ownership over how they contribute to the community. As part of VIA, students reflect on their experiences, the values they have put into practice, and how they can continue to contribute meaningfully.
