    A strong emphasis on the well-being and growth of students and our staff is part of our culture. We put our students first and provide for their socio-emotional needs, through the curriculum, co-curricular and positive relationship building efforts.

    The core values in Telok Kurau Primary School reflect those of the Character and Citizenship Education syllabus.

    These values are fundamental for a person to be of good character and a useful citizen of Singapore. They guide students to discern between right and wrong, help them to make responsible choices and become more aware of their roles in society.

    Recognition is done via initiatives such as 'Catch Them Doing Right', the 'Roll of Honour' (ROH) programme, highlighting of good behaviour at assemblies, academic awards, as well as the Edusave Character Award (ECHA).

    Telok Kurau Primary also advocates the growth mindset, and continually pushes for improvement and innovation as part of our pursuit of excellence.

  • Distinctive Programmes

    Learning for Life Programme - Character Education through Team Sports All students will be exposed to Team Sports through Physical Education lessons, recess play and structured team games during events such as the Primary 5 Camp and Sports Day. Students are provided many opportunities to showcase their values and soft skills. Students with a flair for team sports are identified and further developed through Co-Curricular Activities such as Basketball and Football. Through Physical Education (PE) lessons and Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs), students not just develop physical and psychomotor skills, but also apply and put into practice the values and soft skills that are taught both in and out of the classroom, such as respect, communication, teamwork and leadership. Applied Learning Programme - Innovative Thinking through Coding and Robotics All students will gain exposure to coding through our Primary 1 to Primary 5 coding programme, which is integrated with English Language and game creation. Students who show strong interest and talent in coding or robotics may join the Robotics CCA to further grow their passion and skills. They will also have the opportunity to participate in national and international competitions. Learning Beyond the Classroom Learning extends beyond the school with a planned local learning journeys to Kidzania, Singapore Art Museum, the Esplanade and Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, among others. Students can also choose to participate in overseas cultural immersion trips to further develop their cross-cultural communication skills. Appreciation for the Arts Structured Art (digital art, pottery, batik painting) and Music (beatboxing, Asian percussion, ukelele) programmes are conducted as part of aesthetics development for every student, to grow their knowledge and appreciation for the arts.
