  • School Vision
Empowered Learners, Persons of Strength and Character
  • School Mission
To empower BGPians to learn how to learn and succeed, and nurture them to be confident persons and concerned citizens.
  • School Philosophy, Culture and Ethos

Bedok Green Primary School's philosophy that 'Every Child Matters' undergirds our unyielding belief that every child is special, valuable and important, and thus will receive the necessary support to ensure his success in life, regardless of his starting point, with many helping hands, sound structures and a myriad of programmes for various student segments put in place. We build students' resilience, confidence and strong thirst for success, despite the challenges and obstacles, always cheered on and encouraged by their teachers and peers. The school philosophy unites the school as one, as every member of the school community takes accountability for his role in ensuring individual and collective success. We also ensure that students learn in a warm, nurturing and conducive environment for their holistic development.

The philosophy also drives the school's strong culture of care for its students, staff and stakeholders. Every member of the school community is respected and recognised for his contribution, big or small, with ample opportunities to succeed. Character-building and Values-In-Action programmes focus on contributing to their peers, the school and community, reiterating the importance of giving generously back to society, in our own ways.

  • Distinctive Programmes

Environmental Education @ BGPS, Applied Learning Programme, empowers BGPians with the knowledge and know-hows to do their part for the environment. Students learn about appreciation for biodiversity and natural environment, resources and sustainability, waste pollution and management control, and renewable/non-renewable and alternative energy. Exciting activities conducted both in curriculum and outside curriculum, such as up-cycling of renewable resources at our makerspace corner, let students exercise their creativity. Sports & Aesthetics To ReInforce Values Education (STRIVE @ BGPS), Learning for Life Programme, taps on physical education lessons, co-curricular activities (CCA), aesthetics and outdoor education programmes to inculcate values in students so as to develop their character and citizenship, as well as hone their social-emotional (SEL) and 21st century competencies. Contemporary Issues @ BGPS aims to develop BGPians into informed, concerned and responsible citizens of the global world, who are aware of happenings around the world and are able to reflect and respond to community, national and global issues. Weekly pre-assembly Newsflash programme, showcasing BGPian student reporters, informs and educates students about current affairs. Structured lessons entitled T.I.D.E (Think-Inform-Discuss-Extend) during Social Studies challenge students to engage in discussions of current affairs and think critically. School-wide National Education Commemorative Assemblies connect students to local and global events and help them feel a sense of connectedness to Singapore. The BGPS Health Programme aims to engage students with more physical active time. This includes Active Recess@BGPS where structured games are organised during recess to physically engage students. A professional Student Health Advisor from the Health Promotion Board is attached to the school to provide personalised guidance and advice to students on health and nutrition matters.
