  • Distinctive Programmes

Our whole of school Future Ready Curriculum offers a wide range of programmes that cater to the diverse needs and holistic development of our students. (1) Applied Learning Programme - Growing the Edgefield Mindset (GEM) seeks to develop students to acquire the necessary dispositions, skills and capabilities that better prepare them for the future through carefully designed authentic learning experiences. Through research into one of five global challenges - Diverse Society, Security, Climate Change, Food and Health, Energy and Sustainability, students learn and apply divergent and convergent thinking, develop empathy, and acquire communication and collaboration skills. In designing solutions to future scenario challenges, they develop innovative thinking and complex problem solving skills. (2) Learning for Life Programme - Character Education through Sports Anchored on Taekwondo is what every Edgefielder experience and appreciate as part of holistic development. Sports have the transformative power to develop good character, by inculcating positive values such as integrity, resilience, and respect for others and self. These qualities enable students to become grounded individuals who can contribute meaningfully to society. (3) Technology-Enhanced Learning - Through 1:1 personalised learning using iPads, the school integrates cyber wellness and digital literacies across our total curriculum. As a pilot of MOE Personalised Digital Learning Programme (PDLP) since 2019, EFSS nurtures our students to be autonomous learners, ready to embrace new opportunities ahead. (4) Potential Development at EFSS ensures all students have equal access and opportunities to discover and develop their strengths, which allows them to maximise their potential and grow in confidence. (5) Evidence-based design of programme through research and collaboration with Institutes of Higher Learning characterises our programmes that allows your child to maximise their innate potential.
